Phil TaylorWeek ten of the PDC Darts Premier League took place this evening at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield and as the tournament enters it’s latter stages the stakes are high as the players fight for a place in the top four to reach the playoffs.

First to play was James Wade and Simon Whitlock. Wade has had a rocky road in the tournament so far this year but had an impressive win last week over Adrian Lewis which appeared to mark his return to form. Whitlock too returned from an excellent win over Raymond van Barneveld so both players were looking to maintain their winning form.

Raymond van BarneveldThe PDC Darts Premier League continues this evening when it reaches the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield and with the tournament over halfway every game is becoming crucial as the players fight for a coveted place in the top four.

Phil Taylor is sitting at the top of the table with his winning streak continuing it means that he now only mathematically needs one more win to secure his place in the playoffs. The other three places however are still very much up for grabs with only three points separating Gary Anderson currently in second spot, Simon Whitlock and Raymond van Barneveld who jointly hold third and Adrian Lewis who is just behind them in the league table.

PDC Darts Premier League Week Nine, Aberdeen

James WadeWeek nine of the PDC Darts Premier League hit the AECC in Aberdeen and provided another evening of thrilling and exciting darts.

Kicking the evening off was Gary Anderson and Terry Jenkins. Moved from the last game of the night following the crowd problems in Glasgow, the Scot and his opponent both received a warm and sporting welcome from the audience dispelling any fears of a repeat of the unacceptable behaviour from a few weeks ago.

Anderson started the match on amazing form, dominating the match and breaking Jenkins early on to go 3-0 up. Jenkins held his next two legs to make it 4-2 at the break. The ‘Flying Scotsman’ was clearly focused scoring seven  maximums throughout the match and finished with  101 average. The ‘Bull’ showed moments of superb play including a 111 checkout to hold his own leg and make it 5-3. But the outcome seemed inevitable with the form Anderson was displaying and he eventually went on to take the match 8-3.

PDC Darts Premier League Week Nine Preview, Aberdeen

Gary AndersonWeek nine of the PDC Darts Premier League takes place this evening at the AECC in Aberdeen. With its return to Scotland all eyes will be on the fans to ensure that there is no repeat of the problems when the Premier League visited Glasgow. The decision has also been taken to move Gary Anderson’s match from last of the evening to first.

Anderson will be looking to capitalise on his win over James Wade last week which brought him back into joint second place with Raymond van Barneveld who lost to Phil Taylor. They both currently have 10 points, four behind the ‘Power’ who sits at the top.
